The hot sultry summer and thoughts of the approaching July holidays put everyone in the mood for our annual BBQ/Picnic at Lady Dixon Park, Belfast.
A good crowd of young and not so young turned up and joined in the fun, food and fine weather.
There was also a fancy dress competition at the event and here are the winners:
- First Place: Anna, Carla and Daniella Shaw
- Second Place: Natasha Manganaro
- Third Place: James
The talk took place on 25 April 2010, at St. Bride's Hall, Belfast (in association with Lucchesi nel Mondo).

The 2nd Children's Italian Workshop was held on Sunday 18th April 2010 and was attended by 15 enthusiastic primary aged children from 3-12 years.
Activities included learning some basic everyday phrases in Italian with emphasis this year on colours and numbers. The children learnt language skills by playing games and finished the day by creating a collage of ITALY (in writing) using pictures of Italian culture.
The children all added their names and their own thoughts of what Italy meant to them to their finished masterpiece! (Ice-cream featured heavily here).
The workshop has been organised for the past two years so that the children of La Societa can have their own event and learn more about the Italian language and culture.
The workshop was run by Dr Cathy Fusco.
